Exfoliation on regular bases has multiples benefits for men. Scrub gently in order to exfoliate dead skin cells from the face, reducing the potential for clogged pores and acne breakouts. They can also give you a more glowing, even complexion.
Here are three things you should know about using a face scrub and wash properly:
- Guys with any skin type can benefit from using a regular face scrub.
- Not every face scrub is the same. Choose your face scrub according to the type of skin you have.
- You can use face scrub twice a week except if you have dry skin, then you should only use it once.
Know When to Apply
In general, you should exfoliate your face only twice a week. And, Exfoliate only after you’ve used a face wash and rinsed it off thoroughly with warm water. As face wash removes all of the dirt, grime, and excess oil from your skin to prepare it for exfoliation and face scrub is used to remove dead skin cells
Dispense the Proper Amount
With your face thoroughly rinsed and still wet, dispense a nickel-sized amount of exfoliating scrub onto the palm of your hand. Be sure to use no more than this amount as these scrubs are well concentrated and using in excess may do more harm than good.
Spread Evenly Over Hands
Before applying the scrub to your face, rub both hands gently to spread the scrub to your other hand. This allows for a more even application on your face.
Apply Gently to Face

Apply the scrub to your face and gently massage the scrub into your skin in a circular motion for approx. 5 to 10 seconds. The scrub can irritate the eyes, so avoid the area when you apply it to your face. You can use it on your neck as well as under your chin. If you have a beard, you may need to extend the circular rubbing motion for another 5 to 10 seconds to make sure enough scrub makes contact with your skin.
Rinse Thoroughly
Once the application is complete, you will need to rinse your face thoroughly. Use lukewarm water and be sure to remove all of the scrubs. Water that is too hot may irritate your skin, so make sure the water you use is a comfortable temperature.
Dry Gently

After the face scrub is rinsed off, gently pat it dry with a clean, soft towel. Resist the urge to rub your face with the towel. If you have acne, instead of rubbing your face with a towel, try to pat down your face with the dry sections of your towel. This method will reduce irritation.
Apply a Moisturizer
After drying your face, apply moisturizer on your face to keep your skin hydrated.
